Leage to Host Candidate Forums

The League of Women Voters of San Luis Obispo County will moderate candidate forums for the mayoral and city council races in San Luis Obispo and Morro Bay in September.

The forum for SLO City Council is form 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11 in the council chambers at SLO City Hall, 990 Palm St. For additional information contact Theresa Purrington at (805) 781-7105 or email: ppurrington@slocity.org. The forum will be broadcast on Charter Cable Ch. 20 in SLO and streamed online at: www.slo-span.org.

The Morro Bay forum is from 6-8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 24 at the Morro Bay Community Center, 1001 Kennedy Way. For additional information call Erica Crawford at (805) 772-4467 or email: erica@morrochamber.org.

This forum will also be shown on Charter Cable Ch. 20 in Morro Bay (and no doubt rebroadcast regularly until the election) and it will also be streamed on the Internet, see: slo-span.org

The League of Women Voters “encourages the informed and active participation of citizens in government, works to increase understanding of public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy. The League neither supports nor opposes political parties or candidates.”

LKWV urges all eligible voters to register and vote on Nov. 6 (or earlier if you prefer vote by mail). The deadline to register is Oct. 22 and the LWV will be registering peole at the candidate forums, too.
